2006

Metropolitan College student development team announced selection by the National Council on Student Development (NCSD) to receive the 2006 Shared Journey Exemplary Practice Award. Outstanding programs are selected that are responsive to a significant need; demonstrate impact on student outcome based upon verifiable data; are delivered in innovative or creative ways; can be successfully replicated at other colleges; and is a model of the goals of student development.

2004

The Leadership Louisville Foundation named Dan Ash, executive director of Metropolitan College, to participate as a Bingham Fellow, a group of 28 local leaders who focused on creative ways of thinking on issues in education.

2003

Louisville Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson chose Dan Ash, executive director, Metropolitan College, to serve as his liaison for work-force development and education.

2000

UPS named “Company of the Year” by Forbes Magazine in part due to the success of Metropolitan College

Metropolitan College was a finalist for the Institute of Higher Education Bellweither Award for the Community College Futures Assembly

Metropolitan College student development team announced selection by the National Council on Student Development (NCSD) League for Innovation to receive the 2000 Shared Journey Exemplary Practice Award.

Metropolitan College was recognized as one of the best practices for Innovative Initiatives for work-force development in the nation at the U.S. Labor Department’s National Skills Summit in Washington, D.C.

1999

Business Facilities Magazine selected the concept behind Metropolitan College as the top work-force training initiative in the US
