Student Transition Program
What is the Student Transition Program?
It is a series of on-line modules where you will be introduced to the Metropolitan
College Student Development Team as they guide you through the information and resources
needed to help you succeed as a Metropolitan College participant. The modules consists
of the following:
- Metropolitan College 101 Module
- Career Assessment Module
- Financial Literacy Module
- Time Management Module
- Academic Support Module
When do I need to complete these modules and how long will it take?
- You will complete this requirement prior to signing your first contract with Metropolitan
College.
- This on-line program will take you approximately 2-3 hours from start to finish.
We request that you complete the program within 2 weeks of starting it.
How do I complete this requirement?
- At UPS Orientation you will be given information about completing the Metropolitan
College on-line Planning Session. While in the Planning Session you will be given
the information needed to access your "My MC Page"
- You can accesss the STP from your MyMC Page.
Is this mandatory for all new Metropolitan College students?
Yes. Regardless of the number of hours you have already accumulated, all new MC
students are required to complete this program before signing their first semester
contract. Keep in mind that the semester contract must be signed before tuition
is due to your school to keep from having your classes dropped. Therefore, you must
plan accordingly and complete the STP. There is ample opportunity to complete all
necessary steps in a timely fashion.
What do I do once I have completed the STP?
Once you have completed the STP follow the directions that you were given in the
"Outro" Module and print the Discover Inventory Summary Page and the STP Summary
Page as documentation that you have completed the program. Be sure to take these
summary pages with you when you meet with a Student Development Counselor at any
Metropolitan College office to sign your contract. Remember that you also need to
register for classes and apply for the current year financial aid. Again, it is
important that you sign your contract before tuition is due to your school.
Do I have to complete this program more than once?
No, this is a one time only program that is required of new MC students at the beginning
of their career with Metropolitan College Program.
