Q. If I meet all of the requirements, what do I have to do to get my tuition deferred for the semester?

If a student wants to have tuition deferred and has met all requirements, he or she must sign a Metropolitan College Student Agreement (Contract) before the schools' tuition due date. Of course, the student must be registered for classes and have FAFSA status complete with the school he or she is attending.

Q. Where can a student receive assistance in completing the FAFSA on-line?

University of Louisville students may visit the Financial Aid Office in the Houchens Building on the Belknap Campus to receive assistance with this process.

Students can receive assistance with career counseling, career and major exploration, resume writing, mock interviewing, academic counseling, and finding an advocate to help with communication at various campus offices.

Q. Can I take Distance Learning/Web-based classes?

Yes, but please keep in mind that CAKY only covers 6 credit hours in fall and spring and 3 credit hours in summer. Additional lab fees or other fees assesed by the institution are not covered by this benefit. UofL distance learning/web-based classes are charged separately from regular coursework and are billed at 130% of the regular KY resident tuition rate. Students who take UofL distance learning/web-based classes will be responsible for the additional 30% distance learning surcharge. Web-based classes at JCTC are charged the normal rate of tuition and are covered under the Metropolitan College student agreement. Students are strongly encouraged to speak to a student development counselor prior to enrolling in a distance learning/web-based class so we can discuss what money the student might be responsible for out of pocket.

Yes, students can take Learn Anytime classes. Learn Anytime is a convenient and flexible option for attending JCTC. Learn Anytime classes are delivered online via the Internet. Before enrolling in a Learn Anytime course, please review the Metropolitan College Learn Anytime Tuition Payment Policy [pdf] and contact a student development counselor for additional information about signing a Student Agreement.
